Daylight Savings Time, a concept that provides an extra hour of daylight for the spring and summer months This is a bonus for outdoor enthusiasts and sports teams and their fans. It is a horrible time for parents as they try to convince their children to go to bed on time and they counter with “But it’s still sunny outside.”
When it comes to DST I gripe about the hour of sleep I lose and actually look forward to autumn when DST ends and I can get that extra hour of sleep back. However, once September arrives I start counting down the weeks to when I can ‘catch up on my sleep’ and life returns to ‘normal. There is an anecdote describing the start of DST as a fool who would cut off the top of their blanket and sew it onto the bottom thinking they had actually made it longer.
Almost time to set back all the clocks and watches in our home. The clocks in our vehicles stay on the time the dealership set and we add or take away an hour with the respective clock we check. Now about that cuckoo clock…
